Man Held For Fish-Bombing

A fisherman believed to have been using explosives to catch fish was arrested at Gaya Island, a 10-minute boat ride from here.

The 40-year-old foreigner was detained in an operation conducted by the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and special investigation (D9) unit at 1am at the Kampung Pondo water village yesterday.

Sabah CID chief Senior Asst Comm Azmi Abd Rahim said they conducted the raid after being tipped off that the house had been used to store and make explosives.
