5 Fishermen Held In Quezon For Alleged Dynamite Fishing

Authorities in San Andres, Quezon arrested five fishermen on Thursday, May 21, after they were allegedly found in possession of assorted fish believed to have been caught through illegal dynamite fishing.

In a report released Friday, Quezon police said the local police station in San Andres town received information at around 10 a.m. that a fishing boat marked “JOAN” had unloaded two Styrofoam containers in Barangay Talisay containing various fish species allegedly caught through blast fishing.

Police immediately coordinated with the Municipal Agriculture Office and proceeded to the village to verify the report.
